Dino has landed!

I am very happy to report that Dino has arrived! He made it all the way from Southern Italy to California! (Notice his tail mid-wag!) Thank you again to everybody who contributed towards Dino's rescue. We didn't quite make our fundraising goal, but we got close enough to put the rest on our creaking credit card! When we started this campaign, we put Dino's future in the hands of fate. We were due to leave Southern Italy and we had been unable to find Dino a home for five months. We couldn't leave him behind, but we also knew that we couldn't fund Dino's move to the States by ourselves. It was a last minute plan to send his story out there and see what came back. Owing to the help and incredible generosity of a community of animal-lovers online, we have finally found a happy ending to Dino's story. Thank you so much!

TWO DAYS TO GO!

We fly back to the States tomorrow and Dino is booked to join us on Monday. Thank you so much to everybody who has contributed towards making Dino's journey possible. We are still open for donations and we are enormously appreciative of all the help we have received in our mission to rescue Dino. We couldn't have done it without you! More updates soon...

Two weeks and counting!

Dino is due to fly to his new life in the States in approximately two weeks! If we can make our fundraising goal, everybody who donates will receive a photo of Dino under the Hollywood sign...

Freedom! Dino chases birds on a beach near Amsterdam

It is hard to imagine that this little boy was doomed to spend the rest of his life in a cage. Thank you to everybody who is making Dino's freedom possible!

The Handover

We are now in England. I am happy to report that the handover of His Royal Highness Dino of Calabria went very smoothly. He is staying with a wonderful foster family in Amsterdam who have a rescue dog from Sicily - so they have lots in common! I have received an update that Dino is having a blast, which is great news.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported this mission to rescue Dino. We are nearly there! We are getting close to our fundraising goal, so please continue to spread the word. In the meantime, I wanted to share some photos of the first leg of Dino's journey, from a small town in Calabria all the way up to Amsterdam!

Hello from Amsterdam!

After four days in the car, Dino has completed the first leg of his journey, from Calabria to Amsterdam. This is a pic of him on a beach just outside Amsterdam. He has behaved impeccably and had lots of exciting experiences along the way. He breezed by Naples, hiked in Tuscany, romped through the snow in the Alps and saw himself in a mirror in a hotel lobby, to name just a few. Tomorrow morning we are going to meet the wonderful person who has offered to look after Dino while we are in England. He will be staying in Amsterdam for two weeks and then he will make his final journey, via air, to his new life in the States. We are still trying to reach our fund-raising goal to get him there. Can you help?

Dino sends much love and appreciation! x
